Ferroli boilers to keep you cosy this winter
The north wind shall blow and we shall have snow’. How often do we think of that old poem when the seasons begin to change and the cold winds blow and the wind, rain, sleet and snow starts to head in our direction? We may regard it as unpleasant and the type of weather that we would rather do without, but give a thought to those living in the hot humid countries! More than once I have found myself complaining, sometimes thoughtlessly, about the cold and wet weather, only to be reminded my friends that in the countries they have lived in, rain and cooler weather is thought of as a luxury and they revel in it when it does come their way!
Still, none of us are ever totally content with what we have and like most English people, we tend to moan and groan a little when the weather becomes inclement.
So what should we be doing if we want to keep ourselves and our loved ones warm and dry indoors this winter and not have to suffer cold bathrooms, colder bedrooms and having to sit around the fire with our legs wrapped in woolly blankets? First of all, if we do have a boiler installed, then we should get it serviced. Just like any other mechanical items, such as a car, we need to maintain our boiler in a state of good health to ensure that it is working efficiently. By doing so we can also have the added peace of mind that our boiler is safe and is not churning out harmful Co2 emissions which not only harm the atmosphere but can also be extremely damaging to our health, even lethal.
A well serviced boiler will also save us money in the long run. You may be asking how can that be, if the boiler service has to be paid for? Well yes, you may pay out for the service but a good engineer will make sure that your boiler is operating as maximum efficiency which means lower heating bills.
If you are thinking about getting a new boiler then how about trying Ferroli boilers? They are an Italian manufacturer that has been involved in the manufacture and design of boilers for well over fifty years. It was founded in 1955 by Dante Ferroli of the Ferroli family. It is still a family run business and operates worldwide in fourteen countries across Europe and Asia.
They set up their first UK factory and production facility in the West Midlands in the 1980’s and have continued to produce ever since. They provide the ultimate high-efficiency combi-boilers for the domestic market and also a series of boilers with open vents. They recently announced their wonderful new model called the Modena HE Ferroli which is amazing in that it is small, light and exceptionally quiet.
So if you are looking for a Ferroli boiler to keep you warm and cosy this winter, get your installation booked in soon before the weather changes.

Some common boiler faults which have a huge effect on performance vis-a-vis central heating and most probably requiring gas engineers are:
Leaking boiler-There could be a number of reasons for a boiler to be leaking for instance too much water pressure, overheating of water or even a crack in one of the cast iron sections of the boiler. This is a very common boiler fault which plays havoc with central heating and can be expensive as it will most definitely need gas engineers to visit.
Loss of pressure– If the boiler is losing pressure then there may be a leak in the central heating systems. The common place to lose water is the valve on the radiator. The solution is to tighten or replace the valves or get a quote for fixed price boiler repairs carried out by gas engineers.
Boiler not heating water-This is the main function of a boiler and effects everything from washing up to central heating. There can be a number of reasons for this very common boiler fault and gas engineers should take a look at it.
Boiler not igniting-This is also a common boiler fault and it is recommended that it should be corrected by gas engineers.
No central heating– Boilers are made of different components and any one could have played a part in central heating not working. Checking the fuse followed by reading the error code on the front display can take us to the heart of the problem. Then we can decide if a gas engineer is needed.
Frozen condensate pipe– This is another common boiler fault especially in relatively colder winters. This happens when the condensate in the pipe which goes through the outer wall to the outer drain freezes. This normally does not require gas engineers and can be fixed by pouring hot water on the frozen portion of the pipe.
Noisy boiler or noisy central heating-This can be due to lime scale build up in the heat exchanger causing it to rumble. Noisy or gurgling and rumbling central heating pipes are also a result of lime scale build up in the pipes or air in the system. This is also a common boiler fault to be fixed by gas engineers.
The natures of common boiler faults can are quite varied and most have a direct effect on central heating. It is recommended to shop around for fixed boiler repair rates and make sure gas engineers employed to carry out repairs are well trained.
